I have just completed the Non-Fiction Five Challenge hosted by Trish. The rules for this one were to read 5 non-fiction books between May and September and phew, I just got it finished! At least one of these had to be 'outside by norm'. As far as non-fiction is concerned, I'm not really sure what my norm is. I like memoirs but beyond that, if a subject interests me, I just might try it. I read two memoirs and the others were a scattering of other categories. Here's what I've got:
Overall, I have to say my favorite book from this challenge would have to be 'Born Round'. Loved it! I also loved this challenge and I'm itching to read more memoirs now!
These sound great!! I just read and wrote a review for an unbelievable memoir -- there is something about those voices in the book that make you listen to them so much more, you know?
ReplyDeleteHere's the site, would love to know what you think! Coffee and a Book Chick
Congrats on finishing :D
ReplyDeleteWay to go!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Born Round as well -- it was interesting to see weight/food issues told from a male perspective.
The Non-Fiction Five is such a fun challenge. I have read some great books that way. The only one that I have read out of this bunch is Two Men, and I really loved it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing! I have to admit that I didn't do so well--but I'm just hoping that people won't notice. Bad hostess! :)
ReplyDeleteLove memoirs--without the NFF challenge I'm not sure I would gravitate towards them like I do.
