In Case You Missed It: June 2011

We are officially into summer now and I am loving it! Fourth of July weekend is looming for those of us here in the US which is a great bbq'ing and fireworks weekend. We are getting out of town since it's our anniversary and heading up into wine country. It's always warmer up there so we are going to enjoy some extra sunshine for the long weekend and I can't wait!

June was a really busy month here at Amused By Books! I posted a ton and it was fun. Apparently I had a lot more to say than normal.

My nine books a month reading streak was broken though (it must be all that sunshine!). I only read eight books this month, which honestly is still great for me. That brings my total for the year to 51. Does this mean I might read 100 books instead of 80 this year? If so that kind of freaks me out because that is WAY more than normal! It must be the bad influence of this blog ;)

Now for the official monthly wrap-up. Here's what Amused By Books has been up to in June:
Also if you haven't yet, it's your last day to enter my June Review Book Giveaway for a chance to win one of two fab books!

Happy July!

  1. July 4th is a big deal in Santa Clarita so there will be lots to do. I just wish that it didn't fall on a Monday!

  2. I'm so glad I found your blog. You turned me on to Downton Abbey- it was absolutely delightful and I can't wait for the series to pick up again in the Fall. Thanks for the recommendation!

  3. Thanks for posting the number of books you read on average a month. I sometimes feel that other bloggers read many more books a month than I do, and I wonder how it's possible! I have always been a quick reader, but working full time and spending time with my husband, I usually don't get to read more than four books a month. Of course, I also read chunksters most of the time. Anyway, I'm glad to see that not everybody reads 20 books a month.

  4. Happy anniversary! Hope you have fun visiting all the wineries. :-D

I'll confess to not being a fan of the 4th of July...Morro Bay draws a lot of out-of-towners for the holiday, so it's a bit of a zoo.

  5. Ti - I know the Monday thing kinda sucks!

Kelly Jo - Thanks for the compliments! I'm so glad you love Downton Abbey as much as I did!

Julie - yes, I don't know how people read 20+ books a month! I'd never be able to do that!

Softdrink - Well SF is always foggy for the 4th so that's why we get out of here :)

  6. Yay! Eight books a month is still awesome. I just realized today that June has been my best reading month to date -- and I finished eight books this month, too! Definitely need to add There's Cake In My Future to my wishlist.
