My Own Mini Read-a-Thon

Stacks!
I have stacks of review books. Stacks, I tell you! I am reading as fast as I can but it's never fast enough. Next week my boyfriend is going out of town for 5 days and I am going to make a pledge to myself. Here it is.

My pledge:
  • When I get home from work/gym, I shall make thyself dinner and not turn on thy tv. I shall pick up thy books instead!
  • For four evenings and one Saturday, this girl shall read, read, read and get through some of those review books like it's her job.
  • She likes to read and besides, those tv shows are all just re-runs anyway so pick up those books, drink a glass of wine and chill thyself out. It will be relaxing, I promise!
There, I can do it, and I shall.

My read a thon will commence from Sept. 6th - 10th and I will let you know how I go. Wish me luck and fill free to join me!

  3. Have fun! My hubby starts a new job on November 1 that will require him to travel about one week out of the month and I'm planning lots of mini rea-a-thons!

  6. I hoped to do something like that last week, but was foiled by jury duty. I could use it, though. Enjoy your mini read-a-thon!

  7. Good luck!!! I need to do something like that, not for review books so much as for the stacks of books I've been buying that I can't seem to get to fast enough!

  9. Enjoy! After having family in town this week, I've hardly read a page. I'm looking forward to the upcoming four-day weekend (four whole days!) and plan to have a mini-read-a-thon of my own, as my husband will be working much of the weekend. I'll drink a fair amount of wine too, I'm sure...

  10. Not watching TV is definitely the best way to read more. Good luck!

  11. Love that idea! I always focus on reading and plowing through review books when my boyfriend is out of town for business, too. :) Haha! It's just rare that you get uninterrupted reading time. Enjoy it!

  12. ...I stopped accepting new books for review a month or more ago, thinking I would get caught up, and I'm still running about 8 weeks behind (and that's just READING, not putting up the reviews). Hopefully, I'll get over my August reading slump this month! Good luck on your mini readathon!
