Mailbox Monday: January 23, 2012

It's Mailbox Monday time! Mailbox Monday is going on tour and January is being hosted by Alyce at  At Home With Books! Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don’t count, eBooks and audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists!

We had one of our first real stormy weekends of the winter here this weekend and I loved it! Finally a reason to be all snugly and lazy all weekend long! That's not to say I didn't do some stuff. Friday night was my company's holiday party (we always have it in January ... kinda weird I know!) and on Sunday I went to another bridal faire (the last one of those I think I will subject myself too!) but overall it was a little more casual and I liked it. I hope you had a fabulous weekend too!

My mailbox was full this week! Here's what came in:

From Random House:
1. Blood Bones and Butter: The Inadvertent Education of a Reluctant Chef by Gabrielle Hamilton (look for a giveaway later this week!)

From Harper Perennial for an upcoming TLC Tour:
2. Gillespie and I by Jane Harris

From Crown:
3. The Baker's Daughter by Sarah McCoy

From Dutton for an upcoming TLC Book Tour:
4. Sonoma Rose by Jennifer Chiaverini

From PBS:
5. One Moment, One Morning by Sarah Rayner

6. Pictures of You by Caroline Leavitt

What did you get?

  1. Enjoy your new books! I have shockingly never read anything by Joanne Harris before...

  2. Great mailbox! I really liked Pictures of You.

  3. crikey that is a lot of books! I listened to the audio of blood, bones and butter and loved it....i thought you did too?

  4. You've got some good ones there! I'm also reading Gillespie and I for the tour, and I'm looking forward to it. It got such good buzz in the UK last summer. Enjoy!

  5. You get such cool books :) Enjoy

  6. Lucky you, I have Pictures of You and Sonoma Rose (both still waiting to be read) but I want Gillespie and I in the worse way. I can't wait for the book and for your review.

  7. I've read Pictures of You and enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what you think of The Baker's Daughter.

  8. Enjoy your new books. It was definitely nice to have a change in the weather. It made me want to be cozy and read too! I'm glad our sunshine will be back for the rest of this week though.

  9. I am going to be waiting for reviews! I have found so many good books through you lately that I wouldn't have normally picked up :) I thank you---my pocket book not so much LOL

  10. I would hyperventilate getting as many books as you do and I know lots of people get even more. I go crazy thinking about all the books I want to read! Make me want to go watch tv instead...

  11. You're going to love Blood, Bones and Butter - it's so good!

  12. Looks like some great ones, especially Blood Bones and Butter. Enjoy!

  13. What a great variety this week! I have The Baker's Daughter, too, so I'm especially looking forward to your review of that one. Have a great rest of the week!

  14. Ok my 'reply' button isn't working darn it! So I am going to reply to you all in one fell swoop! Yes it is a ridiculous amount of books - this has to get under control :)

Also, check back here because I now have a giveaway up for Blood Bones and Butter!

Felicia - I am so glad I inspire you to read some new books!

  15. You got some great books! I hear only good things about The Bakers Daughter so enjoy! I really like the teacups image on the cover of One Moment, One Morning.
