In Case You Missed It: January 2012

How was the first month of 2012 for everyone? Mine was action packed with wedding planning! I feel like we got a lot accomplished though so that was great. We were able to get almost all of our vendors hired so while we have spent a lot of money, maybe now we can move onto the fun stuff like designing Save the Dates, buying a wedding dress ... and planning a honeymoon! I promise once the Save the Dates go out to share some engagement photo pictures!

Around the blog it's been really busy too! Somehow I managed to read nine books this month which kind of amazes me with all I've got going on. You may have noticed that I am not always blogging every day of the work week anymore. That might become the routine this year. As things heat up, working full time, planning the wedding and then hoping to maintain a social life have to take precedence first. However, I am trying really hard to keep up with review requests, although sometimes I look at the book piles and my heart skips a beat there are just too many for me to ever catch up! Just know that I am doing my best and each and every day that I can communicate with you all makes me happy!

As I said, in January I read nine books which was a great start to the new year! I also rated most of these reads highly with all but one out of the nine below a Grade B! Here's how it all broke down:

If I had to pick an overall favorite January read it would have to be Night Road by Kristen Hannah. What was your favorite read of January?

  1. I listened to Stuffed by Patricia Volk which i loved and read A Child In The Forest by Winifred Foley which was charming. I am listening to A Visit From the Goon Squad right now which I am not enjoying very much but near the end, thanks goodness! :) I can't beleive you were able to get 9 books in! Good for you!

  2. Wedding planning is so much fun, enjoy it as much as you can and try not to be stressed. Enjoy the whole experience.

I had a really good reading month as well, I read 12 books. I'm a little behind writing reviews though...

  5. First, hurray for getting to the fun phase of wedding planning. It's always a relief having so much nailed down. Can't wait for the pictures.

Now, on to books. You know I've been iffy about reading Good Squad, everyone is raving about it and it just doesn't seem to grab me. I think I may just wait a while. But, at least, you had a lot of good reading. I could read To Kill a Mockingbird every month I love it so much.

    Happy Wedding Planning.

    1. Thanks!

Yes, some people have really liked the Goon Squad but it definitely wasn't a big hit with me or my book club.

  6. Sounds like wedding planning is totally different from when I was playing that game. Save the Dates? Yeah, no such thing! :)

I listed my books read in January and couldn't pick a favorite! I loved them all!

    1. Oh my gosh, the list of to do's is ridiculous!

That's great that you had such a good month that you couldn't pick a favorite!

  7. I can't believe how quickly January flew buy. I still can't quite get my head around what month we are in. The weather has been so mild in the SF Bay Area that I think we are all confused!
