Around the blog it's been really busy too! Somehow I managed to read nine books this month which kind of amazes me with all I've got going on. You may have noticed that I am not always blogging every day of the work week anymore. That might become the routine this year. As things heat up, working full time, planning the wedding and then hoping to maintain a social life have to take precedence first. However, I am trying really hard to keep up with review requests, although sometimes I look at the book piles and my heart skips a beat there are just too many for me to ever catch up! Just know that I am doing my best and each and every day that I can communicate with you all makes me happy!
As I said, in January I read nine books which was a great start to the new year! I also rated most of these reads highly with all but one out of the nine below a Grade B! Here's how it all broke down:
- Sadly one book was given a C rating in January: A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan.
- The rest of the month was a raging success though! Three of my books were rated Grade B: Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal by Conor Grennan; Confetti Confidential by Holly McQueen; and Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading by Nina Sankovitch.
- I had an amazing month with five reads rated Grade A! I'll be hard pressed to top this again. These were: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee; Here Comes the Guide: Northern California: Wedding Locations and Services by Jen Brenner; Night Road by Kristin Hannah; The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French; and All There Is: Love Stories from StoryCorps by Dave Isay.
If I had to pick an overall favorite January read it would have to be Night Road by Kristen Hannah. What was your favorite read of January?
