What's On My Mind ...

So this week has kind of gone a little crazy. I had all of these great plans for a post a day like I used to do and it would be all lovely and I would appear to be in control of my life and then bam! stuff started happening and things just kind of went out of my mind. Now when I come home at night this week, I look at your lovely blogs and stare at the TV, and that's all my brain can handle! However, here's what else is on my mind:

Dewey's Read a Thon:

It's coming up on April 21 and I am so excited for it. I have been all go, go, go and not reading nearly as much as I would like to this year so to get to just lie around all day and just read, well my goodness people, this could not be more exciting! I even think my fiance has some friends visiting that weekend so we will be entertained. Perfection!

What I am Currently Reading:

This Life is In Your Hands by Melissa Coleman. I'm about 70 pages in and it is totally fascinating. I didn't think anything could rock my socks off after reading and loving The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani but it's totally different and I think because it's set in the 60s and 70s, and I am all mid-century modern obsessed thanks to Mad Men, I am totally digging the return to the earth opposite hippiness of this book. Have you read it? My review will post next Friday so stay tuned!

What I am Watching on TV:

Are you guys watching New Girl because if not you should be! It is serioulsy the funniest thing out there. Rob and I laugh out loud to it every week. Love it so much.

So tell me, what's on your mind? How's your week going? Anyone else can't wait for the weekend because seriously ... it can't come soon enough over here :)

  2. I wasn't sold on "New Girl" in the beginning, but it's definitely grown on me! Schmidt is one of my favorite characters on TV... everything he says is so hilarious. I get a little tired of Jess' constant big-eyed innocence and have no clue why a hot older guy would put up with all her silliness, but that is part of what makes it amusing!

  5. Love "New Girl", any show that can work in The Floor is Lava is great in our house. And I LOVED The Shoemaker's Wife. I'm glad to could find a good follow up (not easy, huh?) I didn't know Dewey's Read-a-thon was coming up, I'm going to have to try to participate this year. Hope things slow down soon.

  8. It's nice to take a break every now and then (expected or not)--and sometimes it's nice to break with convention and just write. Amen to the weekend (soon, right?) and to New Girl--I adore it!

  10. With an 18 month old in the house the Read-a-Thon takes planning and I just couldn't make it work this time :(

  11. I'm sad that I probably won't be doing much readathoning this Saturday. I haven't even officially signed up, dang. But there's too much going on, and so I'll just play it by ear I guess. Maybe I can read the afternoon and evening away.
