Amused By Books 2012 Summer Reading List!

Last year I made a summer reading list and it was immensely successful for me. I picked out 5 books that I wanted to read that summer and by October I had read them all. Granted, I didn't necessarily love them all, but I was excited to read them all and I accomplished a personal goal.

To me, summer reading is all about easy, breezy books that I want to read lying by the beach or in a beach chair in the backyard sipping a brightly colored cocktail with an umbrella in it!

This summer I know I won't have as much free time as I normally do since I have a major event in September that we are planning. However, because of that, I need some mindless reading more than ever! So while I have cut down my summer reading list to a top 3 to take some pressure off, I personally can't wait to read these books no matter what and promise to check in at the end of the summer to see how these plans panned out.

So without further ado, Amused By Books (pitifully small, but thoroughly exciting) summer reading list is:
1. There Goes The Bride by Holly McQueen (I'll give you one guess why I want to read this title!)

2. The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty (I've been hearing great things about this one and it has all the elements of books I love!)

3. Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter (Seriously, doesn't this cover just beg to be taken on a beach vacation?!

So did I pick some good titles? What books are on your summer reading list?

  8. Only three books??? Even with the wedding you can fit a few more in, right? LOL. Just kidding, of course. You can't be expected to stash a Kindle in your wedding gown.

  12. I do not have a list as much as a full box by my bed of various cozy mystery series I decided would be perfect to read this summer in the backyard. Each promises to be breezy with enjoyable charachaters , lovely small towns and a touch of a mystery. I am so looking foward to long summer days with my books. I have one centered around an apple orchard business, one series about a fishing family business and intrepid mystery solvers, two centered around bookstores and one series around a horse farm. Heaven.

  15. Yay for Beautiful Ruins! I actually just started it last night, and I'm already immersed. It definitely begs to be taken on vacation, and I'm hoping it stays as engrossing as I find it now!
