It's Mailbox Monday time! Mailbox Monday is going on tour and May is being hosted by the lovely Martha of Martha's Bookshelf. Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don’t count, eBooks and audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists!
First off, I just want to wish all of you mother's out there a belated Happy Mother's Day and I hope you all had a fabulous one!
My weekend, which I thought would be kind of relaxing, ended up being rather busy and productive which was great! We have been having a great string of sunny weather here for the past couple of weeks (wonderful!!) so on Friday after work I felt the urge to go buy some new summer clothes! Saturday I had another round of acupuncture and got my hair done. Then Rob and I did our first batch of wedding favors (homemade soap). We think they turned out great! Sunday I tried Zumba with a girlfriend for the first time. Have you ever done this before? Holey moley that is one serious workout but I would totally do it again. So much fun! Then we did some wedding crafts. A great weekend all in all!
Now it's Monday again!
This week, I got two books in the mail. I don't want to brag but I feel like I've been doing a good job trimming my mailbox lately and I hope I keep that trend up! My bookcases I know thank me.
From Harper:
1. Flight from Berlin by David John
2. Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter
What did you get?!

Yay for Beautiful Ruins -- so excited about that one!
ReplyDeleteI went to Zumba for about six months and really loved it, though I've completely fallen off the wagon at this point! Hopefully I'll summon up the enthusiasm to get back to classes at some point!

Congrats on your wedding and being so smart to make your own favors and DIY wedding. I enjoy hearing about your progress. Keep us updated.
Zumba I cannot stand the horrible music and I suffer from migraines so it is not for me. It seemed to me like a really young crowd at my zumba which was annoying. I prefer to take my current book to the tredmill, put headphones in and block out the chatter while diving into my book.
Both books look good to me. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI got Flight From Berlin, too, so I can't wait for your thoughts. I made homemade soap for my sister's wedding shower, and it was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the cover of Beautiful Ruins. Enjoy the books.
ReplyDeleteI loved Jess Walter's last book so I look forward to your thoughts on Beautiful Ruins!
